Give your home a new life with the ultimate spring cleaning checklist

Spring cleaning is the best way to give your home a new life after a long winter. By using the ultimate spring cleaning list, you can make you home’s interior shine just like new. So put on some old clothes, turn on some music, and prepare to get dirty. It will be worth it!

Your bedroom is where you start and end your day, and it’s usually the place where you are most comfortable. So the dirt, dust and clutter can add up faster than you might realize. Dive deep into this spring cleaning list and tips to help spruce up your bedroom in no time. Clean your mattress by stripping the sheets and mattress cover (and throw them in the wash while you’re at it), then vacuum the mattress. Deodorize your mattress by sprinkling with baking soda and gently rubbing it in with a scrub brush (no water). Let it sit for 10 minutes and then vacuum again.

Curtains can be washed in your standard washing machine. For your curtains, use a gentle cycle with cool water and let them hang dry.

Clean closets and dressers. Take all of your belongings out of your closet and/or dresser and sort them into “keep, donate, and trash piles. Wipe out all the drawers, clean closet shelves and doors, and remember to vacuum the closet floor. Then return what you decided to keep.

For your living room (which can get messy because it’s the busiest room in the house), start with the furniture. Take your couch cushions and pillows outside and hit them with a clean
broom, then vacuum the built-in crumbs and pet hair. Next, do a once-over with the vacuum after its reassembled.

Polish electronics. Using a microfiber cloth and electronics-safe cleaner, dust- off your TV, gaming system, stereo and computer. Be sure to dust beneath, behind and along the cords. Commonly missed in your regular cleaning, light fixtures build up dust and grime, too. So take time to dust off lightbulbs, their fixtures and any lamp grime. Clean chandeliers with a safe cleaner and gentle cloth. And remember to wipe down ceiling fan blades with warm, soapy water.

Shake your area rugs off outside then vacuum them on both sides, flipping them over to get rid of hidden dirt. Clear clutter. Just like you did in the bedroom, take a look at all your belongings and sort them into piles. Wipe them down before you put the keeps back into place.

The bathroom is often the dirtiest room in the house. And even though you do your best to keep it clean throughout the year, now’s the time to disinfect the shower, toilet and vanity. Spray each surface with a strong soap scum remover and let it sit for 20-30 minutes. The, using a cloth, a scrub brush and an old toothbrush, really get into all the nooks and crannies.

In the kitchen scrub the stove and oven, remove burners and drip pans, and use a namebrand stove cleaner. Refresh the fridge by removing all the food and clean the refrigerator and freezer with hot, soapy water. Sanitize the dishwasher, cleaning all racks, wheels, and spinning arm. Wash the trash can, sanitize the cutting boards, organize cupboards, wipe down windows, clean cobwebs, and sanitize your laundry room appliances.
